Saturday 5th September – Chippenham Time has run out. We need deeds not words. For too long we have been fobbed off with excuses. In 2018 the United Nations Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warned that we had 12 years left to avoid a climate catastrophe. So far all we have had from the government are promises and excuses.
10.00am – “Critical mass” bike ride–assemble- railway station. Sustainable travel is part of the solution, and this will be a celebration of cycling. The ride will do circuits of Chippenham to raise awareness of the urgent need for better, safer routes for cyclists.
12.00 midday – lobby at the office of Michelle Donelan MP, 61 New Road, SN15 1ES. We will present her with a letter – send questions for the letter by 21st August to email@example.com
Bring flags, banners and placards to show that people care about the climate and ecological emergency, and want action now. This event needs to be virus-safe. Please wear a mask and socially distance. Bring your own food and drink if you would like to join others for a picnic in Monkton Park afterwards.
